As well as being fun, wheelies are a fundamental part of Trials riding. Being able to control the height and speed of a wheelie will allow you to accurately place the front wheel for steps, logs etc. Wheelies are not all about throttle. In fact, a wheelie can be pulled with very little throttle, if your weight is transferred correctly, and your body positioning is right. The correct position is, once again, very relaxed. Relative to the bike, it is much the same as the basic riding stance. Bacuase the front wheel is in the air, most of your body weight is positioned over the rear axle. If you are too far back it will be difficult to use the controls, and virtually impossible to control the wheelie. Too far forward, and you'll be relying on throttle alone to ride the wheelie.
