GASGAS WELCOMES ALEX MARIN AND JOHANNES FISCHBACH ONBOARD

Let’s go! GASGAS is stoked to be hitting the ground running in its bicycle division with Alex Marin and Johannes Fischbach joining our crew. Spanish flair and a German rocket as Alex and Johannes team up on GASGAS to put our new bikes through their paces.

  • GASGAS welcomes Alex Marin and Johannes Fischbach
  • Alex Marin is a 25-year-old freeracer from Barcelona
  • Johannes Fischbach is a super-fast German mountain biker

There are exciting times ahead for GASGAS Bicycles as we jump deeper and deeper into the world of mountain biking. After our successful launch in 2021, we want to raise our game some more. With Alex and Johannes onboard, we’ll all be pushing hard into 2023 and beyond.

Both riders are well-known faces within the MTB scene. Accomplished racers at the highest level of UCI World Cup Downhill racing, they know a thing or two about going fast and how to get the best out of their bikes. They’re also fun to be around and live for riding their bikes. They’re true get on the gas kinda guys.

So, a little more about them, for those who might not know. Alex Marin calls Barcelona in Spain home and despite only being 25 years old he has already been a Pro rider for the last nine years. After well-storied success racing the World Cup circuit, which included a podium in the Junior category and multiple top-25 results in Elite, Alex stepped back from full-time racing the downhill circuit last year. Developing more into a freeracer, he’s followed his heart to create some unique, exceptional, and fun riding projects. While widening his skill set, he’s also kept his hand in with racing and remains as fast, loose, and exciting to watch as ever. We can’t wait to see what he can do on GASGAS bikes.

Johannes Fischbach (let’s call him Fischi, everyone else does!) is one of Germany’s fastest mountain bike riders, with a wild streak that you’re going to love. He’s chased his dreams in the UCI World Cup for many years and finished ninth in the Downhill World Championships in 2020. Along with winning eight national titles at home, he’s also claimed podium results in numerous urban downhill races such as the Red Bull Valpariso in Chile. And in case you were wondering about that wild side, he’s even attempted a long jump record by launching himself off a ski slope on an MTB!

Our eMTB portfolio is ever-growing too. We’ve added a lightweight G Light Trail to our line-up of Enduro, Trail, Cross Country and Trekking bikes, with even bigger plans ahead. So, as we push on into 2023 everyone is excited to have these guys as part of our crew.

Alex Marin: “Joining GASGAS is a new chapter that I’m really excited about. It might come as a surprise to people, but with the style and vibe they are putting out, it fits me perfectly so I can see us having a cool time together. I’ve always known the brand having grown up in Barcelona. When they stepped into ebikes I found it super interesting, so when they gave me the chance to be a part of the family, I knew straight away it was the right decision for me. I want to keep growing as a rider, create great content and tell my story. I’m excited to see how far we can take things.”

Johannes Fischbach: “It’s great to join the GASGAS family. Of course, I’ve been closely connected for a few years now with R Raymon, but it’s exciting to step over to GASGAS as they push ahead with their bicycles. Back in September I had a taste of what can be in store when I briefly joined them to race the EWS-E in Italy. The team is a natural fit, I can feel the passion for bikes here, so there’s going to be a lot of fun ahead for sure.”

Welcome aboard guys!
