  • GASGAS sights set on the UCI Mountain Bike World Series for 2023
  • Johannes Fischbach and Alex Marin to race for GASGAS SRAM Racing
  • GASGAS MOTOREX Racing consists of Alexandre Fayolle and Simon Carlsson

Yes, you’ve read that right, we’re going racing! In what’s proving a super exciting project, we’re stoked to share the news that we’ll be racing in the UCI Mountain Bike World Series with not one but two teams. GASGAS SRAM Racing and GASGAS MOTOREX Racing will compete in the five-round UCI Mountain Bike E-Enduro World Cup (E-EDR) for 2023.

Eager to test ourselves against the world’s best, this upcoming 2023 season sees a whole lot of firsts for GASGAS. But most importantly, it will mark the first time we’ve taken on a full season of competition in cycling and mountain biking. We want to show we’re passionate about what we do, and that we’re keen to learn. By joining forces with industry leading manufacturers SRAM and MOTOREX, well, we hope it’s clear to see we’re taking this seriously, too.

With two GASGAS teams, SRAM, together with ROCKSHOX, will support Fischi and Alex Marin in the GASGAS SRAM Racing squad. Welcoming us into the SRAM family, our guys will benefit from unrivalled technical support from SRAM engineers. Both riders have been pushing hard this off-season in preparation and are hungry for results on track. Fischi has a wealth of Downhill MTB experience behind him and will want to convert that into E-Enduro success, while Alex switches back into race mode for 2023 after a year creating engaging content and riding videos.

GASGAS MOTOREX Racing are strongly represented by super Swede Simon Carlsson and fast Frenchie Alex Fayolle. Both guys have already enjoyed a full season of EWS-E competition and gained some notable results. Simon ended 2022 in a promising 17th overall, while Alex achieved numerous top-10 stage results. Knowing there is more for the taking, both are fired up. Partnering with MOTOREX, the team will benefit from the Swiss manufacturer's extensive range of lubricants, cleaning and care products, ensuring the smooth running of bikes and parts during the season. The guys will also be instrumental in helping to develop future GASGAS bikes and strengthen partnerships from within our own group of PIERER New Mobility companies. Both teams will benefit from SRAM components and MOTOREX lubricants.

The five-round UCI Mountain Bike E-Enduro World Cup (E-EDR) begins in Finale Ligure, Italy on June 2-4.

Maximilian Topp - Brand Marketing SRAM MTB: “It’s great to see GASGAS pushing forward in the bicycle industry. They are really passionate, driven and want to succeed. For us at SRAM it makes perfect sense to partner together. With our experience and their fresh energy, we can achieve a lot. The E-EDR series continues to grow stronger and stronger each year. With GASGAS we’ve got a really strong team of riders who are well experienced competing at the highest level in mountain biking. They are hungry for results, and we want to be a part of that. With five rounds, the championship looks exciting, and I can feel it will be a fun season ahead.”

Edi Fischer - CEO MOTOREX AG: “It’s great to widen our involvement with the GASGAS brand. We’ve built a strong relationship on the motorsport side and coming together with their racing plans for bicycles is exciting. MOTOREX has a wide range of lubricants and cleaning products for cycling and by supporting GASGAS in this year’s E-EDR and the UCI Mountain Bike World Series it will only help further cement us a race proven brand. With the opening round of the season not that far away, it’s going to be a good year for sure!”

Andreas Gklavas - Head of GASGAS Bicycles Global Marketing: “We are entering elite bicycle racing with two dedicated teams and four racers starting in 2023, and that’s a clear statement for what lies ahead for GASGAS. I’m excited we’re finally able to release the news and more than looking forward to a solid season of E-EDR racing. With Johannes together with Alex on the GASGAS SRAM Racing team, and Simon alongside Alexandre in the GASGAS MOTOREX Racing team, we’ve built a solid foundation of what’s promising to be an exciting championship. With the great support of trusted partners and some great vibes across all members of the GASGAS family, we can’t wait for the racing to kick off in June at Finale Ligure.”
