Jorge Prado sweeps the MXGP of Germany

Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing's Jorge Prado has just finished an incredible weekend at round nine of the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship. The Grand Prix of Germany, run at the historic circuit of Teutschenthal, hosted the fixture.

  • Jorge Prado wins Grand Prix in dominant fashion.
  • Prado boosts his championship lead to 67 points.
  • Simon Langenfelder on hand to meet German fans.

Winning the qualification race is nothing new for Prado – he has taken pole position at six rounds this year – and he did that again on Saturday. '61' carried that brilliant form into Sunday's motos. Although he did not claim the holeshot in the first moto, he stalked his competitors in a calculated manner and took control of the race on lap fifteen of eighteen. The second moto followed a similar pattern, as he remained patient in second place and stole the lead in the closing stages. It was a commanding sweep for the star, and such a positive weekend helped him extend his advantage in the series standings to sixty-seven points.

Jorge Prado: "It was a pretty good weekend! Winning the qualification race and then both motos was just perfect. The bike was very good and so was my riding. I knew that I could do this more often, but it is just about putting everything together and building my confidence. I think today was a perfect example of what I can do. I feel very confident going to Indonesia. Everything is going very well and I need to keep going like this."

A long journey awaits the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing squad now, because the Indonesian double header is next on the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship schedule. The Grand Prix of Sumbawa, which first appeared on the schedule one year ago, is the next fixture.
