- The Valresa GASGAS Aspar Team records an excellent 2nd place in the Teams’ and 3rd in the Constructors’ World Championship Classifications following an exciting debut season featuring seven podiums and four wins.

Nothing short of intense on-track drama and white hot racing would do for the seaso- ending Grand Prix of the 2021 Moto3 World Championship. Better still the scene was set perfectly under the glorious sunshine and with an estimated 75,000 fans packing out the grandstands eager to see the action go down on the tight 4km Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

It has been a season of dizzying highs and grinding lows but ultimately the Valresa GASGAS Aspar Team has emerged with top positions in both the Riders’, Team’s and Constructors’ championships at the end of the year.

Recording an impressive seven podiums in the 18 race championship, as well as a dazzling four wins, the Valresa GASGAS Aspar Team really have shown themselves to be a force to be reckoned with in the crucible-like environment of Moto3 competition.

What’s more Sergio Garcia bounced back from an injury stricken stint - forcing him to miss two Grand Prix - to finish 3rd in the championship: his best result in the category. Rounding off the season in his now trademark style, Garcia finished second at the 2021 Grand Premio Motul De La Comunitat Valenciana - the final event of the term.

The chaotic final race of the year saw Garcia battle up the order from a 10th place grid slot, even leading the race at times. It was only on the final corners of the last lap that Garcia was pipped by the eventual race winner, with the pair finishing nose to tail with a gap of 0.043 of a second.

Team mate Izan Guevara battled through his own breathless race, starting from the outside of the front row. Guevara lapped with race-winning pace throughout the early stages of the Grand Prix battling for the lead on numerous occasions until a tyre issue forced him to slow. Nevertheless Guevara kept his cool and battled back up to 7th place, collecting a further nine points and confirming an 8th place in the Moto3 Riders’ championship.

#11 - Sergio García: “I feel really, really good. It was a difficult weekend for me, the feeling with the bike wasn’t the best and it was a difficult race with a lot of overtaking. Overall, I’m happy. I’ve improved season by season so I want to thank the team and also my family.”

#28 - Izan Guevara: “I felt great on the first laps but after a while the rear tire started to go. I think it there was an issue with it. It was hard to keep the rhythm and stay with the riders ahead. I did what could and, overall, it hasn’t been a bad Grand Prix. A shame to finish 8th in the championship but the end of the season had been pretty strong.”
