The 2022 AMA Supercross Championship was a wild ride for the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing team! Delivering an overall successful campaign in both the 450SX and 250SX divisions, we couldn’t be prouder of our guys Justin Barcia, Michael Mosiman, and Pierce Brown for fighting through a total of 17 demanding rounds from January to May. With plenty of action yet to look forward to, all three of our riders are eager to switch gears into the 2022 AMA Pro Motocross Championship this summer – the fun begins this Saturday with the Fox Raceway National in Pala, California!
When it comes to having the heart and desire to come out on top, nobody does it better than Justin Barcia. Coming into our second season together, Barcia and the team were excited to build upon their previous success on the MC 450F and they did just that in 2022. Finishing only two points outside the top three in the 450SX Championship, it was a bittersweet end result for the New York native but he has plenty to celebrate with six podiums and five top-five finishes among a stacked field of premier class riders and his flame has only further ignited as he vies for his first, and the team’s first, outdoor title this summer.
Our 250 riders, Michael Mosiman and Pierce Brown, each delivered stand-out performances aboard the MC 250F, finishing inside the top-three in their respective divisions. It was a hard-fought year for Mosiman, but he was able to triumph with a Main Event victory in San Diego, along with four additional podium finishes, and he’s hungry for more this summer. For Brown, third overall in the championship was a career-best result for the young rider after scoring three podium finishes and two top-fives throughout the season. Like his teammate, Brown is ready to get on the gas for 12 full rounds of championship battles in the great outdoors!
