GASGAS RACING TEAM'S FERGUSON FIFTH IN AUSTRALIAN SX2 CHAMPIONSHIP

A convincing fifth-place in the final SX2 standings was the end result for GASGAS Racing Team’s Noah Ferguson in the 2022 Australian Supercross Championship after an eventful final round in Wagga Wagga.

Ferguson showed plenty of consistency around the large outdoor supercross track as he piloted his GASGAS MC 250F to sixth overall for the night.

After qualifying in seventh, Ferguson finished his heat race in fourth place, but was confident he could give more for the two-final race formats.

A P7 result in the first final saw him eager to finish his season on a strong note and he enjoyed a great jump off the gate, securing the early lead in the second final.

It was short-lived, however, as Ferguson was overtaken by a number of the series contenders throughout the remaining laps and he finished in fifth, for an overall round result of sixth position.

Meanwhile, GASGAS Racing Team SX1 contender Hayden Mellross sat out the final round after crashing heavily at last weekend’s third round in Newcastle.

Noah Ferguson: "The track was brutal tonight with the sun setting and the dust, so although the result is okay, I wasn't really happy with how things went in the end. Still, it was a good first season of supercross for me, my first ever time attempting it and we were able to make all four rounds. It was a good experience, I'm still healthy at the end of it all and now I can set my sights on next year. It definitely fuels the fire!"
