Australian GASGAS Trials Guru Grant Morris Takes on the New Generation 2023 Range in Spain

I had the privilege to attend the GASGAS MY23 Trial Range media launch recently and what an experience it was!

From a detailed walk through the stunning new dedicated Trial factory production facility through to meeting bona fide trials heroes of mine it was a fantastic few days.

GASGAS were incredibly open book when we toured the new factory building, we visited every room in the building including the production line where we saw step by step how the new 2023 models are built, it was fascinating.

The new generation 2023 TXT Trial models are fantastic!

We were lucky enough to spend the majority of a pretty hot day riding at a great facility GASGAS had secured that had everything from intro level obstacles to world championship level insane rocks that scared you to look at them let alone ride them! The bikes are 80% brand new, but importantly despite being such a big revamp still have the familiar GASGAS feel which is important. My initial reaction to the bike upon first view was just how refined and neat the bikes finish is, everything has it’s place and nothing looks like an afterthought or like it shouldn’t be there. Details like the new footpeg design which breaks new ground for trial design are superb, so neat and simple and easy to work on. I was lucky to test all 4 capacities of the new bike on the day and despite not having ridden a 125cc much at all in the past this really stood out for me as being so capable, I zeroed a section on the 125cc minutes after losing points on a 250cc on the same zone!

Overall it was a brilliant experience, from meeting trial legends like Albert Cabestany and Laia Sanz to getting to know key factory people dedicated to trial, it was very enjoyable indeed.

The big takeaway for me was GASGAS’ clear commitment to trial moving forward, they are here to stay and have produced a fabulous new bike that will set new standards in trial sport.
