CONSISTENT MCMAHON CLAIMS TWO PODIUMS FOR GASGAS AT KINGSTON SE AORC

As the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) heads into its final stages, GASGAS racer Korey McMahon has continued his fine run of form this weekend with two consistent podium results at rounds nine and 10 at Kingston SE.

With gusty wind and showers peppering the South Australian venue on Saturday, McMahon and his GASGAS EC 250F focused on banking solid points. Despite chasing bike set-up to suit the fast, choppy conditions, the NSW-based rider finished the day with a creditable third-place result.

Sunday’s tests proved to be a tight, technical and rutted, which caused many riders to come unstuck, McMahon included. After recovering from some mistakes early on, the GASGAS rider found form late in the day to post two top-five outright stage times and snatch a hard-fought a P2 result in class.

McMahon’s continued consistency sees him placed a comfortable second in the E1 championship standings, with two rounds remaining at Wynyard, Tasmania, from 8-9 October.

Korey McMahon: “It was an eventful weekend, that’s for sure. I feel like I spent more time on the ground than on the bike this weekend, but I think that was the same for everyone! Conditions were really varied, but I’m pleased I was able to finish strongly, setting my fastest time of the day on the last test today. I enjoyed some great competition with Cooper Sheidow and that made both of us push harder. I’m really motivated to get a win at the final two rounds in Tasmania and finish the season off strongly. Even though I’m comfortably in second in the championship, I don’t want to settle and will keep pushing.”
