GASGAS RACING TEAM’S NOAH FERGUSON RACES TO TOOWOOMBA MX2 PODIUM

A second-successive MX2 podium result was claimed by GASGAS Racing Team’s Noah Ferguson at Round 6 of the 2023 ProMX Championship in Toowoomba, navigating the technical ruts of the hillside Echo Valley circuit as he continues his convincing return from early season injury.

Qualifying in third, Ferguson raced to a strong start in the opening moto and battled hard for the lead as the gates dropped. Using every inch of the track, he eventually found his way into the lead with a crafty pass and would remain there for majority of the race before finishing in second place.

Another good start in the second moto saw the number 29 in the fight as the shadows came down on the Queensland venue, equipped with an old-school GASGAS look to celebrate 'retro round' of the ProMX series. A hard-fought third-place result was enough for Ferguson to seal third overall on the day and jump to fifth in the 2023 MX2 championship.

Toowoomba marked a day of progress for MX1 class contender Regan Duffy, launching to a top-five start in the opening moto of the day and running the pace, before a tip-over ended with a tumble down the order. A sub-par start in the second moto resulted in a hard charge back to 15th as the Western Australian continues his comeback to professional competition.

Noah Ferguson: “On one hand I’m happy with the day, while on the other I want more! Good starts in the motos, but I know I can battle with the top guys, and I want to be fighting for wins in the next couple of rounds. Happy with my bike and the team, they’re working great, and now onto the next one."

Regan Duffy: “Decent day for me at Toowoomba. First moto, I came out of the first turn with a good start around the top five – that was my first good start for the year, so it was cool to run up front and get out of the chaos. Ended up having a little crash down the hill, which bent up my bike, so once I got up, I struggled for flow. Second moto, I got tangled with someone down the start straight, and came back to 15th. Improvements are being made and I felt faster today, so just got to work on the sprint speed in these coming rounds.”
