GATES TO DROP ON PROMX CHAMPIONSHIP FOR REVAMPED GASGAS RACING TEAM

Our revamped GASGAS Racing Team roster of Kirk Gibbs and Byron Dennis are eager to GET ON THE GAS this Sunday at the opening round of the 2024 Australian ProMX Championship, the dynamic pair set to make their mark when the gates drop on the new season at Wonthaggi.

Former MX1 champion Gibbs requires no introduction, the gritty 35-year-old landing in GASGAS red for the new year and making himself at home on the new generation 2024 GASGAS MC 450F. He's no stranger to fighting at the front of the field and is more than capable of continuing to do so in the great outdoors once again.

And you can count on Gibbs sharing his knowledge with MX2 rookie Dennis, which will be instrumental in honing the 16-year-old's craft at the professional level of the sport. After storming to the MX3 crown last year, Wagga Wagga product Dennis has been drafted into the GASGAS Racing Team and will be equipped with the 2024 GASGAS MC 250F.

Also with direct support from GASGAS Racing Team, MX3 talent Ky Woods is taking the next step in his young career and will also be equipped with the 2024 GASGAS MC 250F. Following a successful final stint at the Australian Junior Motocross Championship (AJMX) last year, he's firmly focused on establishing himself at the national level in ProMX.

This year's Australian ProMX Championship will take off at Victoria's Wonthaggi circuit on March 17, featuring a total of eight stops on the calendar that's due to conclude at Queensland Moto Park on August 17-18.

Kyle Blunden (KTM Group Australia Motorsport Manager): "We’re buzzing to introduce an all-new GASGAS Racing Team line-up with the perfect balance of experience and youthfulness while having championship-winning expertise at its core. Kirk Gibbs, a former Australian MX1 champion, is not only bringing his championship credentials and knowledge to the team, but also a level of enthusiasm we haven’t seen for a little while. His dedication during pre-season has been monumental in the development of the all-new GASGAS MC 450F and he’s excited to go racing. He’s worked closely with the team and is in a good place, he looks great on the GASGAS! Paired with Kirk is the talented MX2 rookie Byron Dennis, who steps into the professional ranks at just 16 years old after a commanding MX3 championship victory last season. Byron's transition to the 2024 GASGAS MC 250F has been excellent, and he too has been working incredibly hard in the pre-season. Anthony Giles from Choice Suspension has been instrumental in getting both Kirk and Byron comfortable with WP Suspension’s Pro Components which are across all of our race and practice bikes. Between Anthony and the race mechanics, everyone has been working their butts off and I couldn’t be more proud. Furthermore, GASGAS is proud to elevate support for Ky Woods. No stranger to success, Ky will collaborate closely with the team as he continues his development within the MX3 category, setting the stage for a promising future in MX2."

Kirk Gibbs: "We've had a really good pre-season in making the switch over to the GASGAS Racing Team. Obviously, it’s not a huge change moving over to GASGAS, but so far everything's been going really well. I love the bike and the team, and the whole vibe around the GASGAS brand is something that I think fits me really well at this point in my career. I’m excited to kick off 2024 this weekend in Wonthaggi and put the new GASGAS MC 450F up the front."

Byron Dennis: "I’m really excited for the 2024 season, making the step up to both the GASGAS Racing Team and the MX2 class has been awesome. Riding for this team has been a goal of mine since I got on GASGAS machinery three years ago, so it’s pretty surreal. I’ve had my head down and I’ve been working hard on and off the bike, so I’m feeling good heading into ProMX at Wonthaggi this weekend. Putting solid points on the board and setting ourselves up for a great rookie season is the goal, so we’ll work towards that and have some fun!"
