A first-career AUSX podium was earned by GASGAS Racing Team’s Noah Ferguson

GASGAS Racing Team's Noah Ferguson captured his first-career podium at round two of the 2022 Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) in Adelaide on Saturday night, finishing third in the SX2 main event.

The Sunshine Coast-based teenager starred in just his second AUSX appearance, finishing fourth in his heat race and then landing on the podium in the 15-lap final at Adelaide Showground in South Australia.

Ferguson jumped out of the gates on his MC 250F and circulated in second position for the opening two laps, before settling into third and taking the chequered flag in P3. He's now fourth in the championship standings at halfway.

As for SX1 teammate Hayden Mellross, he was also fourth in his heat race riding the MC 450F and went on to claim seventh in the main event. He's now fourth in points with two rounds remaining.

The Australian Supercross Championship will continue in Newcastle, New South Wales, with the penultimate stop of the 2022 season on Saturday, November 26.

Noah Ferguson: "It doesn't feel real yet! I'm stoked with the result, just over the moon and speechless at the moment. To finish P3 in my second-ever supercross, I'm really happy. The track tonight was more mellow and you really had to stay consistent for the whole 15 laps, which I was able to do after a strong start. I'm really grateful to be in this position with the GASGAS Racing Team and am looking forward to preparing more leading into Newcastle next."

Hayden Mellross: "Today was an okay one for me, definitely not where we want to be in terms of the end result, but I feel as though our speed is definitely there. While seventh was the finish tonight, we are now fourth in the championship and right there within reach of the top three, so we will keep working from here and come back strong next time out."
