Simon Langenfelder:“New team, same colors! It’s super exciting for me to continue racing on GASGAS bikes. With the support and guidance of this experienced team, I think I can really progress in the MX2 World Championship. I’ve spent a lot of time in Italy with my new teammates recently and everything is really positive. I’m really enjoying this new environment and team structure. This off-season isn’t quite as long as we had last year but for sure I can make improvements. One thing that I will be working on is my speed, to be faster through the opening laps of each race as the intensity after the gate drop is so high. But overall, the future looks really great, and I think 2022 will be the year that my results improve to the next level.”
Laia Sanz is a rider that needs little introduction. A true Spanish sporting superstar, she is one of the world’s most successful sportswomen and a rider that has enjoyed phenomenal successes in Trials, Enduro and Rally.
Determined not to let her competitive fire burn out, Laia Sanz has decided to return to the feet-up world of trial and compete in the 2021 FIM Women’s Trial World Championship! Going back to where her motorcycle career started, Laia is reigniting her passion for trial and returning to the paddock where she’s enjoyed so much success in the past. Gunning for the Women’s Trial World Championship title, we couldn’t be happier making a little space for her underneath our trial team’s awning.
Since deciding to return to TrialGP, Laia’s been fully focused on preparing herself for the upcoming season, re-sharpening her feet-up skills and finding her feet (pun intended) on a trial bike once again. Helped by plenty of time on her bike – take a look at her Instagram if you need any proof – with the start of the TrialGP series getting ever closer, Laia’s been on the gas non-stop recently and couldn’t be happier about returning to the Women’s Trial World Championship!
Incredibly, Laia already has 13 FIM Women’s World Trial Championship titles and we reckon she has what it takes to make it 14. Winning won’t be easy, it never is at the highest level. But that’s the goal, and no matter what the outcome, it’s going to be a ton of fun seeing her back in action again!
Daniel Sanders is our new Desert Charger . More than capable of putting himself and our RC 450F rally bike at the top of the timing sheets, the young Aussie is hugely excited to be racing for GASGAS Factory Racing in 2021.
As a former ISDE winner, Sanders clearly has the skills needed to compete at the highest level on two wheels, something he made perfectly clear at the 2021 Dakar. Rocketing to a seriously impressive fourth overall and finishing as best rookie, make no mistake, Daniel has arrived on the rally scene, and we can’t wait to see what he can do in 2021 and beyond.
With Sanders recently completing his final preparations ahead of the 2021 FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship, the 26-year-old will compete in the six-round series, which concludes in November, and then onto the big one – the Dakar Rally – in January 2022.
Jorge Prado:“It’s a really special feeling for me as a Spaniard to be competing for GASGAS with its Spanish heritage, I can’t wait to start racing in my new colors in February. To begin the season early is perfect for me as I prefer to race and already I feel great on the new bike, so I’m really excited for round one. I’ve learned so much during the last two seasons in MXGP and feel that I can improve my level even more in 2022. For sure it won’t be easy, and I’ll be racing against some of the best racers in the world who have much more experience, but I feel ready to battle with them once again. With what I’ve learned during the last two years I believe I can run up front more consistently and I’m excited to get the new season started.”
2023 is looking good for the GASGAS Factory Racing Trial team! As part of the ongoing strengthening of the team, we have signed the highly skilled and flamboyant Spaniard Jaime Busto. The 24-year-old has already enjoyed a massively successful career, having claimed both Youth and Junior titles in his national Spanish championship, and an FIM Junior World Championship in 2014.
Over the past six seasons in the TrialGP World Championship, Jaime has finished inside the top three no less than four times, as well as claiming four overall top-three championship results in the intense X-Trial indoor series. Completing the 2022 TrialGP season as runner-up, the wild Spaniard is looking to go one better in 2023 and sees GASGAS as the team to make it happen!
Alexandre Fayolle: “It's an amazing opportunity for me to join GASGAS this year. I'm really excited to work with motivated and professional people to improve my experience on the bike. The E-EDR season starts in June, so we have a little more time to test and try lots of new things! I'm really enjoying the process and can't wait to start the new season with everybody. With the experience I have gained from my last two years in the EWS-E I believe I can be really competitive and even more consistent.”
Alex Marin: “Joining GASGAS is a new chapter that I’m really excited about. It might come as a surprise to people, but with the style and vibe they are putting out, it fits me perfectly so I can see us having a cool time together. I’ve always known the brand having grown up 20 minutes from their factory in Barcelona. When they stepped into ebikes I found it super interesting, so when they gave me the chance to be a part of the family, I knew straight away it was the right decision for me. I want to keep growing as a rider, create great content and tell my story. I’m excited to see how far we can take things.”
Johannes Fischbach: “It’s great to join the GASGAS family and do my bit to push ahead with the development of their bikes. I have loved riding eMTB bikes ever since they came out. To race them now at the highest level in the E-EDR with GASGAS is a great opportunity I’m very grateful I got. The team is a natural fit, I can feel the passion for bikes here, so there’s going to be a lot of fun ahead for sure.”
Simon Carlsson: “I’m really looking forward to riding GASGAS. My new bike feels great to ride and I can’t wait to get on the road with the team and start the season. The E-EDR World Cup is growing fast, and the field is strong. But I feel like I learned a lot during my first eMTB race season last year so I’m keen to continue developing and learning new things with GASGAS. It’s going to be a fun year!”
