ANDREA VERONA CLAIMS ENDUROGP WIN AT GP OF SPAIN

That’s how it’s done! GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona has continued his strong run of form at round two of the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, topping both EnduroGP and Enduro2 on Sunday in a nail-biting race that went down to the wire. The win marked the EC 450F racer’s first overall victory of the season and propels him to second in the championship standings.

  • Andrea takes his first EnduroGP win of the season
  • Italian secures double Enduro2 podium results
  • Verona moves into second in overall standings

Feeling confident for round two in Oliana, Spain, Andrea came out swinging in Friday evening’s Super Test. Kicking off his weekend in style, the Italian put in an impressive lap to finish third-fastest.

Getting on the gas straight away on Saturday morning, Verona set the tone by winning the opening cross test outright. Consistently fast throughout the day, he delivered eight top-three test finishes to keep the pressure on his rivals. Although unable to match the pace of the front two overall, Verona secured a solid third-place result on the EnduroGP podium and narrowly missed out on the Enduro2 win, finishing second in class just 17 seconds off the top spot.

Fired-up after a strong day one, Andrea looked for more on Sunday. Despite torrential rain leading to a delayed start and cancelled tests, Verona remained unfazed and was lying in second overall after a disrupted opening lap. Taking the difficult conditions in his stride, the EC 450F racer showed his skill and experience to claim a series of top-two results. With just 0.06 seconds separating him from rival Josep Garcia after the penultimate test, Verona dug deep on the final cross test, his specialty, to edge out Garcia and take a hard-fought overall win.

Claiming his first EnduroGP victory of the season, Andrea Verona now climbs to second in the overall championship standings after two rounds. While he topped the Enduro2 timesheets on Sunday, it wasn’t quite enough to take the class lead, leaving him just two points adrift of the top spot.

The GASGAS Factory Racing rider has his eyes now set on round three’s GP of Sweden in Skovde on May 23-25.

Andrea Verona: “I’m really happy to get my first overall win of the season this weekend! Day one was good with second in class and third overall. I felt like I could have been in the fight for second overall but a few too many mistakes cost me that position. It was certainly tough out there today with the conditions, but it feels great to put the 450 on the top of the box! I felt better as the day went on, so to get the win is amazing. I can’t wait for Sweden in a few weeks!”
