SIMON LÄNGENFELDER ENDS 2023 WITH A PODIUM IN GREAT BRITAIN

The 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship reached a conclusion today and Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing ended the term in fine fashion, with more success in the MXGP and MX2 classes. The superb track of Matterley Basin in the United Kingdom hosted the grand finale, where Jorge Prado was able to celebrate his recent championship success.

  • Jorge Prado concludes title-winning term in MXGP.
  • Simon Längenfelder claims ninth podium of 2023.
  • GASGAS narrowly miss out on manufacturers title.

Simon Längenfelder showcased his brilliance aboard the MC 250F yet again – he stormed to pole position aboard his MC 250F and replicated that performance in the first MX2 moto today. A mediocre start made the second moto trickier for him, but he secured fourth place and second in the overall classification. The forty-three points gained today helped him jump to third in the final championship standings. Claiming a bronze medal is a phenomenal achievement, especially considering that he had to miss three of the events with an injury.

Simon Längenfelder: "I won the qualifying race and the first moto, but the second moto was not the best. To come back after injury is never easy, so I am happy that I did that and could take third in the championship. I am looking forward to the Motocross of Nations and then we will focus on 2024."

Jorge Prado entered the Grand Prix of Great Britain atop a wave of momentum and put that to good use in Saturday's qualification heat, as he claimed his eleventh pole position of the term. A fourth in moto one earlier today put him in a good position to maintain his podium streak, but a crash early in moto two put him in an impossible situation on the fast-paced layout. '61' salvaged eighteenth for tenth overall on the day. Crucially, he walks away from the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship as the undisputed world champion with more moto victories than anyone else.

Mattia Guadagnini was unable to complete the final stop of the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship, unfortunately, following an incident in training.

Jorge Prado: "It was nice to race and not think about the championship! I was able to enjoy the moment. This season has been a dream come true. Thank you to the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing for all the hard work this year. We did this together."

Although the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship is over, the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing stars will focus on the upcoming Motocross of Nations. Jorge Prado, Simon Längenfelder and Mattia Guadagnini will represent their respective nations in France on October 08.
